Publishing to Marketplace
Share your automation components and earn credits
Publishing to Marketplace
If you have built reusable function blocks, toolboxes, or complete simulation projects, you can publish them to the Sim Assist Marketplace. Other users can purchase your work with credits, and you earn a share of every sale.
Preparing for Publishing
Before submitting, make sure your item is ready for other users:
For Toolboxes
- Ensure all function blocks have clear names and descriptions.
- Add input/output labels that follow IEC 61131-3 naming conventions.
- Test every block in a simulation to confirm correct behavior.
- Include at least one example program that demonstrates usage.
For Projects
- Remove any sensitive or organization-specific data from the project.
- Verify the 3D scene loads without missing assets.
- Add comments to your PLC code explaining the logic.
- Confirm the simulation runs end-to-end without errors.
Write a clear title, description, and select appropriate category tags. High-quality screenshots and a short video preview significantly improve discoverability and sales.
Setting Pricing
All marketplace transactions use credits. When creating a listing:
- Navigate to Marketplace → Publish.
- Select the project or toolbox you want to publish.
- Set your price in credits. You can look at comparable listings for guidance.
- Alternatively, set the price to 0 to publish a free item.
You can change the price at any time after publishing. Existing purchasers keep their access regardless of price changes.
Revenue Split
Sim Assist applies an 80/20 revenue split on all paid marketplace sales:
| Recipient | Share |
|---|---|
| Publisher (you) | 80% of the credit price |
| Platform | 20% of the credit price |
Credits earned from sales are added to your account balance and can be used to purchase other marketplace items or withdrawn according to the payout terms in your account settings.
Review Process
All submissions go through a review before appearing in the marketplace:
- Automated checks — The system verifies that the package is complete, all assets are included, and the project or toolbox can be loaded without errors.
- Manual review — A member of the Sim Assist team checks the listing for quality, appropriate content, and accurate descriptions. This typically takes 1 to 3 business days.
- Approval or feedback — If approved, the listing goes live immediately. If changes are needed, you receive specific feedback and can resubmit.
You are notified by email at each stage of the review process.
Updating Published Items
To release a new version of a published item:
- Go to Marketplace → My Publications.
- Select the item and click Update.
- Upload the revised project or toolbox files.
- Add version notes describing what changed.
- Submit the update for review.
Updates go through the same review process as initial submissions but are usually approved faster. All existing purchasers receive the update automatically — they see an Update Available notification in their library.
Maintain backward compatibility when possible. If a new version introduces breaking changes to function block interfaces, document the migration steps clearly in the version notes.
